std bore early l.a 318 block with 4 ears

i have another early l.a. 318 block, with 4 motor mount ears on each side. theese blocks have thick walls and can go to 4" bore with ease. that matched with a 4" crank and you have a serious motor. great candidate for a sleeper build. this one is std. bore with no ridge. $100

whats the casting date on this block? and what does it say after the 318 on the side 318-?

it looks like it says aug 71 casting, 318-5, on the other side. it is hard to get close enuf to get a good reading

a std bore 318 should be a bore of 3.91" and a stroke of 3.31 a 273 has a bore of 3.625, same stroke as a 318. a 340 has same stroke as 318. a 360 stroke is 3.58 i think.
