What sort of modifications did you guys do to make the steering column clear the left side cylinder head?

I had to trim the outer jacket of mine slightly, but I'm pretty sure I have a column that no one else does, lol. My car had a manual shift column for power steering. I ended up frankensteining it with a manual steering shaft (power to manual steering coupler doesn't work with TTI headers), but the outer jacket was too long because of where the shift linkage came out of it originally. I pulled all the inner linkage out of the column though because there was no way it was going to clear the head.

I'll be installing an aftermarket column. I need as much room as possible for forward facing headers.

look up a stearing universal joint for a 37 checy being fitted with a v8 in some street rod parts places and it gives you some possibilities. never did it but seen it done once. it was on a standard stearing box.
