I got this steering column. It is a manual steering 3 speed on the tree column. I plan to use it in a manual steering floor set up. Is there a way to remove the shifting mechanism down by the coupler? Also the coupler has been beat to snot do they make a new seal for that I guess im not even sure what its called? Or where to get it. I wonder if this isnt it here the top center http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/lostcose.html

1 The short answer is "get a floor shift column"

2 One guy on here ground off and filled in the old shifte mount and refinished the collar

3 Removing the linkage is just a matter of throwing it on the bench, tearing it down, and removing the linkage

4 If I can find it, someone else on here posted a bottom bearing repair using an off the shelf pillow
block bearing

Might be this one here:

5 There ARE rebuild kits for those couplers. I see them on "the bay."

Some "stuff"

Yes you are correct ive seen the thread. Im not so much worrried about the shift lever inside the car but the part circled in the photo. This was in my budget so I bought this. I know with some work it will work fine.
