I need help guys. I am looking at a replacment steering column for my 72" 318 Scamp. The one I'm looking at is out of a 71" Duster marked 70" from factory. Is the column in question form the 71 Duster going to bolt in and plug up right. Help.:prayer:

If both of them are the same type (either manual or power) there shouldn't be a problem. I put a 68 manual steering culumn in my 73 power steering car and just had to change the steering gear box.

The other difference might be the plate that mounts to the floor and the one that holds it to the dash.

I am by no means very experienced with these cars, but the 68 bolted into my 73 with no modifications. All the plates lined up and worked just fine. I did have to modify the area around the ignition tumbler though. I just had to drill a small hole for the 73 ignition tumbler to lock in place in the 68 column.
