Steering Coupler 1967 Barracuda

-
I had the spring clip on mine for a while, but its also a PIA when working on it.
This Spring when I had the steering column out anyway, I installed a replacement cover and punched it down after bending the tabs.
There's guidance about this in some threads - either here or moparts IIRC.
I used a puller as a third hand to keep the cover in position

I did not have a puller that would keep the cover in place, but I used my drill press to apply pressure while I bent the tabs over. Worked great.

I assumed in another post that there is a hole in the table.

Yes, my drill press has a 7/8" hole in the platform. I lubricated the coupler and the shoes, slid the assembly in the coupler while on the bench, then dropped the shaft through the hole on the drill press and lowered the spindle to hold the clamp in place while I bent the tabs over. Works like a charm.
