Steering gear seal kit install

I don't get it, the seal usually has a rubber lip that sometimes has a metal round springy thing. I've replaced a few.
 
your correct, you know how it is when your under a car for a bit...
pretty stupid on both parts mine and theirs ...
Since I took it for granted that what was in the package was correct and had
no way of checking as the old one had no rubber at all... go figure...
thanks for the input, as you can see I removed the body of the post...
