Steering Shaft Overall Length

Long story short, while putting the flanged bearing in the column and persuading the steering shaft through said bearing, I broke the shear pins, so the shaft collapsed. I need to know what the correct OAL is for a power steering shaft for a 73 Duster. I saw a measurement of 36 3/8" somewhere, does that seem about right?

I feel pretty dumb for not accounting for the thickness of the paint, but it is what it is.

I had 37.5 as a reference.

i'm just going by my experience.i've done a bunch of a body columns and they always measured 37 3/4 so that's what i go by.just trying to help.

Sounds good guys! I doubt the 1/4" will make a whole lot of difference either way. This helps quite a bit.
