Stellantis sold CDJR to China

My daughter loves Jeeps and has had several new ones. As far as I'm concerned to buy a 50k - 100k Ram with that paint job on it is a joke. I really do wish some Japanize Company would start making some good V8 pickups.

You can get a Cummins is a Nissan!!

China, Jeep. That does it. Time for my AMC Hornet to find a NEW home!!!!!

Most of this video is BS; the 'slow to convert to EV' thing is actually a huge ADVANTAGE. Just look at Ford and even tojota - they are backing away from the EV nonsense as they dont sell, theyre losing money on each one and are not 'sustainable'. EVs are garbage and simply do not work for most people in most situations. No country's infrastructure will support them. EVs are NOT gaining dominance as this bozo says.
The SEC thing is purely political; the video does tell one truth that is salient - the redchinese want to buy in to a US company to avoid tariffs and taxes and to buy tech that they havent stolen yet.
Its all political; the 'big guy' will undoubtedly get his 10 from the redchinese for letting them in like obummer did forcing the sale of SAAB to the redchinese for pennies on the dollar vs what had been offered for the company by others. [and when did it become his prerogative to force GM to sell things, close brands and replace the CEO anyway?!?!?]
As for Quality issues... yes, Chrysler has them as does everyone else. The narrator - and the media in general- make a big deal of a recent recall by Jeep, but no one outside of the industry or true enthusiasts ever heard anything about a similar sized recall by honda recently... media is silent on that one. And like anyone with a brain believes anything 'consumer reports says anyway - they are completely bought off and political.
Again, this is all political.
Oh, and the economic issues mentioned? yep, bidenomics...[yes, I know its been brewing for awhile, but the last 4 years have been devastating... on purpose.]
Eventually, the redchinese will probably buy CJDR; they will be allowed to do so by a corrupt government after said same entity created/enabled conditions to foment the environment for such an eventuality. Our manufacturing [Europe's too] has been purposely sent to redchina an its satellites by ignorant and traitorous governments and unscrupulous CEOs. Without some serious and radical changes which will have to be from the ground up, the West is done.

and yes, I imagine this will be deleted as too political, but its still a fact.

Well, it SUCKS, but I am not surprised. Lets see, in the last 30 years, Chrysler has been owned by Mercedes, Fiat, Stellantis and now China. When are we going to stop letting foreign companies buy up everything in America????
In the 20 Years I was in the Air Force, I knew of several guys who wanted to buy a house while stationed abroad. England was about the only country that would allow a foreigner buy real estate. It won't affect my love for old Mopars, but I will think twice before buying another new Jeep!!!!! In the last 30 we have bought 5 new Jeeps from the BEST Jeep dealer in the country. Four Grand Cherokees and a 2023 Gladiator. I consider a lot of the people at the dealership to be my friends. They always take great care of me. I am concerned what will happen.

Fake news.

Several Chinese companies have proposed offers to Stellantis over the past year including BYD but Stellantis has flat-out rejected all of the offers.

Time to find another source of information.

The video is a month old.
This is bullshit.

Apparently they have joint ventures in China. Why we don’t make them do the same I dunno ie can’t buy anything in NA without it being a JV with an American or Canadian company.

My wife drives a 18 Buick Envision. Nice little suv. I didn't even check where it was made until after we bought it. China ! I thought it was on the Equinox platform and built here. Takes the fun out of it. After checking, the Equinox is built in Canada, Mexico, and some parts in China.

No kidding.
There really are some ignorant and gullible people that accept things without looking deeper.
I think it was a famous E.I.B. broadcaster that used to advise people to Read beyond the headline.

Sorry guys. I was dumped! :BangHead:
I don't want to call anyone ignorant. It's just being aware of these things. Believe me, by dad is only 65, and I worry daily about him being duped on a social security scam or something. He isn't stupid, nor am I saying anyone is, but I hope everyone here starts to learn about these types of videos.
I admit it's scary.

I watched a few min. of the video. It says Stelantis is having problems and the Chinese company has offered to buy a division or two. It doesn't look like anything is etched in stone like the thumbnail of the video says. Yep. click bait.
