That’s why it came to mind . I was heavy into cycling in the 70s and 80s .

I tried to buy the engine out of it (before the aluminum one) but he had sold it.
As said above I think the car was sold overseas.
After sitting for a number of years and talking about it last week, we pulled it out of the
back of the shop. we changed the fluids and replaced a bad shifter cable.
Washed it and took it to LVMS to race maybe for the last time.
Jon Jr. won the Sportsman Eliminator (11.50 up full tree) with a Trip/Zip perfect .000 reaction
in the finals taking a .02 Stripe in a very competitive class!
I will ask him to put a picture in later today

This IS the car that Steve raced for quite a while with a
slant 6. I can post pictures of the rear Firewall to Trunk with the
Slant 6 club Decals and other sticker from that period that I
kept on the car still. I discussed the history of the car extensive
with Steve. It has always been in California and Arizona
since that time.
I bought it directly from Steve and that was
over 20 years ago. It was owned personally by Steve and never by
Hot Rod/Peterson even though it was a magazine project car. I still
have the title somewhere in Steve's name back when he lived in El Monte
California. He used to drive it to Irwindale Raceway to race it. It was one of
the fastest actually real street cars around So Cal in those days!
