Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well, this was supposed to be a quick in and out fly by, and it's been over an hour... I am going to get some more rest....

They didn't back then either... This one was custom built...
I actually built my house 33 yrs ago. Framed all the walls, and set them, Installed all the windows and doors, Roofed it myself. I framed the outside walls with 2X6's and used R19 insulation. Used high performance Anderson windows and sliders. Was worried about heat pumps in this area, so I used two systems, One up, one down. Took me about a year to complete the job, while I was still working everyday. Had the house appraised after I moved in. Couldn't believe how much I saved by doing it all myself....

Happy New Year FABO friends. 65 deg, cloudy and muggy...not complaining. Made it thru another New Years Eve shift...wasn't bad. Here's something that made me happy, first time the lights all work right...I jiggled some wires...before, the driver's parking light woukdn't come on, but the fender-top light glowed continuously...I was so excited I had to pull over and get a oicture.

That’s what I’m trying to tell my wife. There’s no reason we can’t do the finishing work like painting and carpeting etc. we’ve done that many times. Same with the deck and such. As for the electrical work, yeah I’d want some pro to do it. But plumbing, I can do

Same here Mitch, but I built a cottage compared to your home, 2 1/2 tun heat pump heats my little place on the hill, My sons and I built it and had friends help with the rafters, I cooked on the grill as they stayed busy, Mikie and Creed help hang the sheet rock but I did all the finish work, I did all the electrical myself and helped hang the commercial siding (Glad I did the commercial siding ) We love it, less is more type thing

:rofl:Going to my Mom's cousin's this afternoon. Will be a cultural experience seeing how they do New Years Day, since they are all from northern New York. My Mom was happy to leave that cold and depressed region right before I was born, in sunny FL. It is good to meet your relatives. You might need a kidney some day

Thanks Mike it is Summerville SC, about an hour away, named that because Charlestonians built summer houses there to escape the bugs, heat, and smellyness

Dont know what im going to do today. Is too cold to open shop door. Maybe i will work on my plasma cutting table.
Just a grid and a stand. May make a duct and a containment system to catch the dross.

Hey, Happy 2019! I didn't make it to midnight but that's ok. A good night sleep and a clear head this morning. A cup of Jamaica Me Crazy this morning and I'm good to go. Cheers to all.
