Replaced the gas meter? It may be debris in the jet for the pilot from that replacement.Pissed, replaced the thermocouple in the water heater and it still doesn't work. Didn't have a problem until the utility company came out and swapped out the gas meter. Mother FuXXers!
Yep probably so. Where's the jet?Replaced the gas meter? It may be debris in the jet for the pilot from that replacement.
Fargin iceholes!Pissed, replaced the thermocouple in the water heater and it still doesn't work. Didn't have a problem until the utility company came out and swapped out the gas meter. Mother FuXXers!
Does it have an actual pilot light that is burning all the time? Is that what goes out?Yep probably so. Where's the jet?
It has a pilot light. I might have to give that a try tomorrow. You can manually light it and the burner works and shuts off and the pilot goes out.Does it have an actual pilot light that is burning all the time? Is that what goes out?
If so, it is that tube that contains the jet inside. You can usually disconnect it (after turning the gas off) and blow it out backwards with compressed air. Sometimes you need to run a wire or needle down it.
Pilot shouldn’t go out. Only pilotless ones that use a piezo electric starter don’t have a pilot light. It has a pilot light. I might have to give that a try tomorrow. You can manually light it and the burner works and shuts off and the pilot goes out.

I’m guessing that your pilot light jet is clogged and that’s why it goes out.
Thanks Dave.Pilot shouldn’t go out. Only pilotless ones that use a piezo electric starter don’t have a pilot light.

First thing, Thermocouple. Does the pilot light stay on as long as the main burner is on?Probably so. I will have to try that tomorrow.
Yes it does. I replaced the thermocouple. it still goes out as soon as the burner goes out.First thing, Thermocouple. Does the pilot light stay on as long as the main burner is on?
Pilot gas flow is sputtering. Main burner keeps relighting it. Once the main burner is off, pilot can’t stay lit.Yes it does. I replaced the thermocouple. it still goes out as soon as the burner goes out.
Sorry, can’t help with that one!I an Horney!
