Stop in for a cup of coffee

I will take pics when done have a ton more to add to it. Definitely another pick up load of sheet metal.
Put all the parts in the cab, right up some linkage and have Tim sit on top of the cab to drive it back

Good morning old friends, another day of driving Pete to his Chemo therapy and get him back to the hill, keeping my nose clean and wearing a mask in areas I think I should and washing hands when I touch something should keep me from catching a bug of some kind.. second treatment this morning everyone have a good day .

Your a good brother.

Talked to a guy last weekend. I want to repaint the dark argent on my Deluxe Chrome Wheel covers. He suggested using Cerakote paint. Its a paint they use on guns and gives a very hard finish.
I looked its expensive not sure if I want to hassle with that. Its not like these wheels will be abused. Think I'll just tape and spray.
Probably same stuff they used on grilles. If you can find someone that restores them...

I did the paint on my 55 Chevy valve covers and they have held up very well.
Think I'll get the paint and practice on a extra wheel cover I have.
Nothing makes you feel better than when you do it yourself.

Need to look through or start a thread in the body forum about the slightly darker finish on the taillight centers.
My guess is that's not paint?

I'm thinking promoter on the chrome area needing painted, then paint three light coats dark argent, and a light coat of two with clear will do the trick.

Oh I hear ya on that. Not saying you have to get someone else to do them, but they would know what it takes to get it right.
And they would know where to get correct paint.
Some of those finishes were likely done with special sprayer or at least the tip. I may look into it myself for my grille. Almost a fine 'glittery' finish I believe, when its fresh. But its got a light texture, so not just a regular metallic.

My only experience even close was when a local metal wizard straighted the lower trim strip on the trunk. He sent me to Martin's - that's a story of its own! - to see if they would anodize it. But the guy said it was probably too thin to risk. So I'm guessing the original method may have involved anodizing???

I did my grill last winter when I had the dash out. I used argent paint from Herb's Parts.
Taping is required paint had the color and texture.
Just found another guy advertising MOPAR paint. He uses PPG paint which I like. He puts it in a rattle can also.
MOPAR Automotive Restoration Paint

The guy who fixed the dent on my car's roof and some other touch up uses a little air gun - like for painting models -

And from the 'always something to fix' files...
I'm back on mower repairs this week. The wife mowed grass while I was away. She didn't quite finish it, so I just had a small area to cut yesterday. Probably a good thing or I wouldn't have known there was a problem. I kept getting a grinding noise from the deck briefly every few minutes. Couldn't pin point it. Pulled it apart and found a spindle bearing was starting to self destruct. So. ordered replacement bearings for all 3 spindles plus a drive belt that was all cracked up. Should have everything Friday...

Oh I meant the chrome areas on the wheel covers that are painted.
The tail panel and painted area of the center taillight bezels currently painted need to be darker.
I friend I know came by and looked at the car. He's done some 1000 point judging on Barracuda's before. He gave me a short list of things to do.
This will never be a 1000 point car because we prefer to drive it.

Thank you all very very much, it's not an easy task but I will keep watching over him, it's just so hard to focus on anything other then Pete, I try to but it seems hard to put my hart and thoughts into anything else but feeding and resting myself.
His son has been here two times in 6 weeks, did not come see him on his birthday or father's day :(:BangHead::wtf:
But that has been the story since my wife call him and told him Mike will need help at least one ta two days a week so we could get out and get a break.. I got this
