I was at work in the engine factory when we heard the first plane crashed into the first tower... We went to the employee cafeteria and watched the second plane crash and then the towers eventually fall...
so do I, I'm wanting to get a group together and make the 100th anniversary run on route 66 in a few yearsWhat route, something you haven't driven or something familiar? I want to do Route 66 some day.
For quite a while only still images were posted on the news feeds over the internet. I didn't have a TV hooked up, even then.I was at work in the engine factory when we heard the first plane crashed into the first tower... Math class was just about to start, Freshman year of highschool. Kid came running in, told our teacher to turn on the tv, he did, we saw a tower on fire, about 45 seconds later right as he was reaching to turn it off, we saw the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower. Teacher dropped the remote in his hand and just sat down on the floor right there. We'd watch the rest of the day's events in every class. After school, I met with my SAR team and we marshalled aircraft at the local airport , which was the emergency airport for Indy international, we parked dozens of jets from Leers up to 737s. We also helped marshal F16s that were patrolling the skies and needed refueled. I got home late that night.9-11 where were you all when it happened? I saw it on tv and was getting the boys ready for school. I kept them home that day and watched it at the neighbors house.

I don't know for sure. I owned a pair like that and gave them away when I got the Hellas that meet US automotive standards.
If its that model, the noticible differences were the super sharp cut-off line, and when the low beams were aimed correctly, the high beams were too high - leaving a big dark area on the road. Stern posted these isocandella diagrams of that Hella and the production Cibie (late 1990s early 2000s).
Cibié & Hella H4 Headlamp Performance Compared
I just don't think you'll be that happy with those on a car.
7" Sealed Beam H4 replacement - ECE or DOT?
But Hella does make some other models/or has, and if its one of those, its probably better.
Updated Hella "Super" 7" H4 Headlights
The cat's meow for North American use is probably Cinbie's "Bobbi" lamps and their "Z-beam" lamps; both long out out of production.
The Bobbi models had a sealed housing, and used an H4 or HB2 bulb.
The Z beam had a beam that steps up on the right like the VOL and VOR patterns, instead of angling up. I've got a set but haven't put them in yet.
There's a pair of used Z-beams on e-pay now for around 270.
New genuine Cibies are about 90 each or 180 a pair in the US/Canada.
Not cheap!
So against my better judgment I went stealth mode to get some progress pix of Demon in paint shop prison. I am still frustrated but just going to let it ride. We have now missed yet another completion date promise. Such a very different business model at paint shops. My Company would be bankrupt in a year if I operated that way.

Yeah... time to be pulling it out. It's one thing to be behind and another to be using that as a storage shelf.
I did go and see George last week. Talked for about an hour. Made sure he understood I need the car done and back soon. He promised to be in paint and back to me in six weeks. Metal is all done and most of it is in primer. He needs to attach fenders and block it out, and paint. So not too terrible.Yeah... time to be pulling it out. well that's good to hear. I was gonna ask who's car would be done first but decided against itI did go and see George last week. Talked for about an hour. I don't see any reason you couldn't do that with clear. I would let it dry and scuff it upp with like 220 sandbaper.@Unconventional ,
Anyway, yesterday I was in Ukiah to pick up my dark turquoise paint for the dash, seems very flat, no glossy at all. So, I wonder if I am just going to keep it that way, and not add anything talcum powder to it or so.
Has anyone ever tried to spray glossy clear coat over a flat one stage paint to make it glossy ? Is that even possible ?
Bill
Solvang has a good car show every year too. They have lots of blood sugar spiking retail establishments in Solvang@Unconventional , Do you ever go to Solvang for some Danish baked goods ?

Uneventfull trip for the most part, except a rube that was behind me, went over to the right lane just before an intersection, and passed me and back to my lane, all withing the intersection. What is going on in peoples mind ? I just don't get it. Sadly we have no police in this area anymore so people drive as they please and then some.

And I'll bet it didn't have **** stacked on it unless it was something for it. That's just no respect with all that crap on John's car. I'd have flipped out.I did go and see George last week.
