Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good Morning All! Blood draw this morning, annual. Wish I got vampire liberty for it! Then off to work TGIF!!!

I had to get a CT scan yesterday....

It may be some of my problems are caused by a work injury that happened a little over two years ago...

So anybody have a picture of a factory a body console lid latch? Pretty sure there should be a spring in there somewhere....

IDK, my ‘69 console lid doesn’t have a latch. It just lifts open.

Pizza for lunch and it was such a beautiful pizza to look at. Only thing is I didn't get a pic so imagine the prettiest pizza you can think of and double it.

That looks like a 66/7 with a woodgrain sticker on it to make it look 69 and up

66 to 68 were spring loaded shut and you overcome the spring to open it.

69 and up were spring loaded open and the latch held it closed. This reduced rattles.

Nope. It’s the factory ‘69 console. Spring loaded shut. Of course the car was built in October of ‘68 which is why it doesn’t have headrests.

My original spare tire wheel that came with the car from the factory is painted Gang Green which is a ‘68 color and wasn’t available in ‘69. Obviously I have replaced the tire.

My 67 Formula S fastback came with the original red streak spare tire... :D

Then my brother put it on a parts car in our yard and sent it to the scrap yard.... :icon_fU: :mob:

Like the first part...not the scrap yard part. :(

Yeah, me too....

He also scrapped the original engine for that car when dad died and he was prepping the house...

However I was able to find another 67 273 commando engine that needs a rebuild that I can throw in there if I ever want to make back to stock again.....

I wish I had the original 340 for my car. The documentation I have says it threw a rod in 2006 and windowed the block. That’s why there is a MP 360 Magnum 390 hp crate in there now. The date on the MP Magnum purchase paperwork matches the story of when it was installed. The car only has 72k original miles on it and was only driven 3-4K miles per year for the first 15 years of its life according to the service records.

Your latch looks like mine but it appears my latch is junk....anybody got an extra laying around? Looks like the bottom is broke off. I bet under the plate on the bottom that's missing on mine there is a spring to push the button up.

I am pretty sure those latches are the same as 68 and 69 glove box.

I think they re pop those. I like to get new ones because the old usually get crusty and when you push down, they become exactly like yours.

IDK Rainy. Here are 6 different 1969 Dart GTS cars from the GTS registry with consoles and none of them have a latch.

You learn something new everyday in this hobby, so I would love to put that in the books.

Looks like I need a different lid like yours for my 69 GTS clone. I have the 4 speed console for it but the lid is the latch type.
