Stop in for a cup of coffee

I remember the Dukes in the Tempest and then used in S10/S15 pick ups and in GM front wheel drive A and X body cars. We had one in a 82 Buick Skylark that made it to a quarter of a million miles. There was a time when the blocks were cast here in Waterloo at the John Deere foundry.

I bought a used vintage tube receiver yesterday, now I need to buy or build a variac, recommended to step the voltage up slowly to keep the electrolytic caps and tubes happy. Anyone built or bought an AC variac?

Huh? LOL I think I know what you are talking about.

I've never owned tubes, Dad had a pair of Dynaco's but I didn't know about capacitor "reforming" and how the electrolytic cap can "lose" it's polarity memory and blow up upon full power up. I have to figure out what the receiver is capable of drawing and then size the variac to handle that load.

Interesting stuff. I bet Hoppy knows about that stuff.

I had a couple tube radios years ago. I morphed to crank Victrola phonographs. I still have a couple.

Morning all, Had a 95 Wrangler with the 2.5, good little motor. Mid 40s here today, have to see what the boss has planed for us today.

Is that a 5 main bearing block? If so, a tough bottom end.

I have the pic from the parts book. I'll figure it out. I'll give John, my Barracuda buddy a shout.

Nice!
Z=man. Does your parts book have that page?
The dealer in Livingston NJ had a part book supplement for the '67 Barracudas. Mostly with trim and stuff like this that was different from the valiants and darts.
I think the one Kieth posted is a later revision of the 67 parts book and includes that stuff.

Looks like the regulators you need were only used in the convertibles - at least that year....

Agree -Jan 68 edition would not be the firs issue for 67...

Yep I have the 67 Parts Manual same pic's Keefver shows.
I learned something, the dash in a parts number listed indicates for left/right...haha!!
Yes Matt that part was only used in the Dart, Valliant, and Barracuda convertible.

Went in my other garage to do some lathe-ing. Heat was out. Water tank skim of ice, toilet skim of ice. Think i dodged a bullet there. everything would be trashed if i didnt catch it.
