Stop in for a cup of coffee

Hey Mike @toolmanmike Cheryl really liked the Dinkel.
I told her I was going back today to get another bottle, but will get the #12.
She says "Well this one is #8 why 12"? My reply "Oh 12 means it's just a bigger bottle".
12 is 90 proof compared to 8 being 80 proof...yee haaaw :D ambush!!!
You'll have to let me know how it compares.

I've been informed that I'm 'essential' personnel. Even if there is a Shelter in Place order, I still have to go to work. I was hoping for some paid time off...

The near by dirt tracks seem to be taking the "one week at a time" view on their up coming seasons. The next maybes are first weekend in April. Mid April for the drag strip.

So glad I'm not in the Customer Service business right now.
I had a long but nice talk with the property manager of my rental in Florida that we were supposed to go to in 3 weeks. She was very helpful and polite thru all my questions. Very thoughtful, and came up with several ideas and suggestions, not just reading a script. I’m giving her a heck of a review on VRBO and mailing her a thank you card. Probably the best customer service I’ve ever experienced.

she said she’d been getting calls around the clock since Tuesday

Sounds like ours are still running for the timebeing

edit, disregard, just saw their Facebook post that they made at 630. Postponing all events until Memorial Day weekend

I wouldn’t count on any “Maybe” with a date before July.

Son just called. All work in the community is stopping as of friday. And wont be going back until maybe june. We both applied to have our mortgage and loan payments deferred for 6 months. So a lesser financial burden.

Hoping it all works out for you and your Family. Tough times these, but we are all in it together and helping each other is paramount.

I agree.
Heard about a shopper in a grocery store ignoring the self isolation order. Store owner didnt see a problem. The fine for a business owner is 50 grand for not enforcing social distancing.

My wife was having a bit of a melt-down last night too. Didn’t want to go out for her prescriptions at the drive-thru pharmacy today and wanted to have all groceries delivered from now on.

I told her that was fine, but get a grip. A one minute interaction at the Pharmacy drive-thru at arms length isn’t much of a risk...and not any different than taking a package from a delivery person at the front door.

Just assume that you need to wash your hands when you get home and everything you touch in between might be contaminated so don’t touch your face until after you wash your hands.

She then went on a short rant that was escalating so I walked away and went out into the garage.

20 minutes later she came out and we had a gentle talk. We are doing all we can to be safe but we can’t let it make us crazy. We can’t live life in a bubble. Just stay focused and we will get through this.

Today she was much better.

These are hard times, but we must remain sane...and focused on what we need to do.

I just suspended all repairs in my shop until further notice. Breakdowns i will do what i can, on a case by case basis. thats it. I’m done.

I would be more concerned about who handled my groceries getting them to me.

Exactly what I told her. If we have a focused plan, hit and run to get supplies and clean up afterward our risk is about as low as it will get. Everything else is just a false sense of security.

Not high risk locally yet so still feel safe buying at store and bring in house. General deliveries and the mail from who-knows-where are sitting in the garage for a day unless really needed right away...

Yep...and I won’t lick envelopes to mail bills. I use a small piece of napkin wetted with water and then toss it.

Yup. And be thankful you have a place you can go out, walk around and enjoy. Park looked pretty nice this afternoon. A lot of people out - most were being good about keeping their distance.

Unfortunately some hadn't got the concept through their heads about why rec centers and playgrounds were closed. The playgrounds and basketball court aren't fenced and locked here, so those who didn't get the message were using them like a normal day. I heard people say signs should be posted but signs are a low percentage means of communication. They need an education outreach on site to be effective and because those same folks need to understand the why or they continue to be potential transmitters in other settings. sigh.

Tossing a ball back and forth while building up a sweat is just asking for it...same reason gyms are closed.

Shoot hoops alone, great! Have at it and stay active.

Otherwise, you might as well just lick the ball when you get it.

Exactly. And most sports involve pretty close contact - that one in particular is.
