Steering box is no fun. Had the pressure/return lines cooperated i would just about be done. Instead it involves heat and an air hammer. Oil everywhere under this van.

Finally, got lines loose and steering box swapped. Just need to re-install lines and snug it all up. Dirty job. But somebody has to do it.

The wifee cam home for lunch and just left to go back. Got half way back to City Hall and stopped because of street flooding.

Its done. Suggested he unload that thing before it starts getting real expensive. Too late. Good for my books though.

Then he reminds me to check a/c. Big leak. I am not able to deal with it. I have to be licenced to open or service air conditioning here in manitoba

Spent an hour putzing around on my little tractor. Pulled steering column out, used my hydraulic press and pushed it apart. Polished the bushings and lubed.
Its ready to back in. Can at least steer it now. Transmission next. It dont shift.

Sounds like it needs a little love!

Some day i will attend. Not to buy or sell, just to meet up with all of you!
Of course finding some treasure would be a bonus!
Yea, it's on my list too. I'm kinda broke and like an idiot, I prioritized going to tomorrowland and they canceled it this year and I lost some money, on top of being kinda brokish this year.

I have for years been on the hunt for a 64 Sport fury Convertible, so I always had "enough" cash to buy one if I found it. No longer, I am real happy with the 66 Satellite convertible I got last year. Thanks Keith!!!
The last car I will buy for the rest of my life, is going to be a 72 or 71 (72 preferred) valiant 4 door sedan.

I need to start saving and then pursue it. OR trade an existing car If the right deal came up.

Either way, there's always THAT car you are always pursuing.

Believe it or not, I’ve started a small fund to buy my dream car as well, a 1970 340 Cuda. Only a couple hundred bucks in it, but I hope to one day find the right one. Fully restored of course. Probably when I retire if they still have gasoline by then

One of my kids has 71 Valiant 4 door...

The other has a 68 Valiant Signet 4 door...

Back home for the night. Trash is out, garden watered and that shower sure felt good after a very sweaty day at Carlisle. Next 2 days shouldn't be too bad. Just hope this rain coming up the coast doesn't shift in. Looks like Philly is getting a good bit tomorrow.
