So a question can you skim coat a piece of plastic prior to painting? I only thought it was with metal??

No I fixed the crack. I had a crack near the screw hole on the rear interior panel. No matter what I did the crack would re-appear.
John an old paint and body guy, cut a shallow grove in the plastic taking out the crack. He filled it building with epoxy, building it up slowly until it was level. We then sanded it down even.
His buddy thought I'd have to skim coat it before painting, but John said I was ok. I think I'll go with John.
He also took a heat gun, wood clamps, with a piece of 2x4 and straightened out a little plastic warp caused by a previous owner over tightening the screws. A neat process for me to watch.

Just came back from a ten mile Bicycle ride......Before it gets too hot......Got work on an Escalade inside today.. Yesterday PS hose today Exhaust leak and AC check up....

That PS hose yesterday was a Bit** , Had been leaking for a while, what a mess, and what a PIA to get to each end to remove it...1 1/2 hr to change it . Should be about 30mins.......

And I bet the new one looked like it would not fit, not formed the same way.......I pressure wash everything before working on it....gets most of the crap off of it....I want a steam washer but every time I go to buy one, I get scared off by the price....

Guess I'll call my paint guy today, and see how he is progressing. I'm assuming that he has the doors , fender, hood and trunklid painted now. Body should be very soon.....

Well just found and bought a set of nice looking OEM upper/lower trunk trim.
Hard to find not crunched up. I'll bead blast them, shine them up, and put them on the car.
I have a set of OEM taillight buckets being rechromed as we type.
Together with the new trim that rear end will be looking mighty fine ...GO Karl GO
