Anything on the plate for you today?

Good morning and happy Friday. For the ones still working...we made it! As for the rest of you filthy animals...just another Saturday for ya.

I'm gonna test my "new" lawn tractor out today... I just got it running yesterday...

I gotta learn how to use the leaf collector, lots of leaves on the lawns that need to be picked up....

I've never had a riding mower before this year, especially one with the leaf collector and need to figure out how to get it to pick up the leaves, and then empty them...

Should I "premulch" the leaves with one of my other mowers first by wagon training them with circles and then once they are in a pile, take the leaf collector one over them to mulch them some more and pick them up???

I also burned some more wood in the fire pit yesterday... If I get time I should cut some more wood and stoke the fire back up today...

Karl, my JD (likely this one too) has special high lift blades for the bagger. It mulches them very well and they fill the bagger. The biggest issue for me is what to do with all that is picked up. Last time it filled my entire truck bed. Do you realize how long of a road trip you have to take to get all that crap to blow out the back of the truck???

so going over to help a buddy on his charger today. His neighbor has an 06 AWD RT hemi magnum for sale for CHEAP, no engine, but I have a couple hemi's here. Thinking of picking up it, putting one of the hemi's i have in it.

As long as the debris is dry, it will pick up well. Wet, you will be dealing with the pipe plugging up. i have considered a bagger, just load into dump trailer and its off to the dump.

Dumps here will not take leaves. They actually have a guy checking as you come in from Labor Day to Christmas

Good morning all. That last Hurricane did at least 30k of damage on the boat. Thank God I wasnt there for it.

Here we have a dedicated area for organic debris, brush ,leaves and such. They push it up and burn it. During burn bans it goes into a landfill of sorts, pushed into a pit and buried.

Mine doesn’t pick up very good if they are wet or already mulched. But I am running regular blades and bagger is actually from a different mower...
Good Morning

Thanks for the advice guys...

I do have a place on my property that I pile the leaves each year, plus the village will take them away if you put them in the paper leaf bags and leave them at the curb...

They don't allow leaf burning here, one of the past mayor's daughter had asthma and they banned leaf burning... It was nice when we could burn the leaves, because we have a dry creek running through our yard, the front part is lined with limestone rock.... We used to blow the leaves into the creek bed and light them up and watch them burn...

Since I'm not sure if this mower has the special raised leaf blades, I will just pick them up on the first run with the silver mower... Maybe I can name it the silver bullet.... :D

they used to take them, turn them into compost that they'd hand out free the next spring, but the Dem controlled council put a stop to it last year. Said it made the recycling center smell.

Holy crap!!!

My new positive cable came that I special ordered this week... This thing is major heavy duty....

I was not expecting it to be this robust, it's much larger gauge wire than the original one... Check out the pictures....

I hope that it's flexible enough to work in "the silver bullet"... It definitely will handle any current that it will encounter in the mower....

If you need any electrical cables etc, I recommend them... Great service, I just ordered this on Monday, and it's already here, plus the quality is first class with how robust this cable is...

The new cable is on the top if you haven't figured it out... If I would have known it was going to be so large, I would have gone down a couple gauges in wire....

That sucks that they don't do that any more....

I think we need to cut off people's noses, or put plugs in them as it's causing us much inconvenience... Your city doesn't compost anymore and we can't burn leaves....

Hey, I just got an idea while typing this...

If we put air freshener in the masks that we have to wear in public for corona virus protection, then maybe we can get the cities to repeal the leaf burning and compost ordinances... That way the people who are sensitive to these things won't be troubled any more...

Then if they still complained, we could have chloroform laced masks for them and let them pass out in a corner somewhere every day so they won't bother us and society can move along....
