Hey Mike you going to MITP?? I pretty sure we are, but haven't decided if we are taking the car.

It's not fast but it will go anywhere

Looks like good ground clearance and for me the winch is a must to self retrieve, have a steep boggy hill, need to haul stuff out from down below, lawn tractor with it's trailer isn't making that hill in winter lol!

Can you tell me a little more about it, looks like a blast. I'm wanting to get a UTV with bed, two seater, possibly diesel.
Well here is why I bought it. It is all gear drive. I have worked on a few of them and it was replacing the belt. Everyone loves polaris but I have seen a lot of people with them and always have had work done on them. Honda makes the 500 like mine an 800 and a 1000. Mine is small I can put it in the back of my short bed truck and go. Mine has either an automatic or manual shift. So if the kids drive it I put it in auto and don't have to worry about them over revving. Top speed on the 500 is about 42. My neighbor has the Kubota diesel and it works well. I am not aware of the other diesels. What else would you like to know

I have a roof and windshield now and bought used wheels and want to go with taller tires. For $400 you can buy a differential lock for the front. Maybe someday but I haven't needed it....yet. I watched a lot of youtube comparing different models and I have had it for a year and have not felt like I wish I would have something else.

Can AM has them with Turbos but where I am unless I am on the road and need speed....why?

I like the idea of smaller size, not for transporting but for getting in between trees. Didn't know there were drivetrain differences belt/chain, good info, thanks!

Is rear axle open, locked or locker activated?

Polaris ranger diesel.
Bobcat puts their decals on it as well. Bobcat charges 2x the money for parts. Guy i worked for needed a thermostat and ordered it from bobcat, and was waiting for it. I go open the engine bay, and its all polaris.
I cant recall who actually makes the engine, maybe isuzu.

Prostar whoever that is.

It's lock I think. Never saw it listed but it will spin both tires. Honda Pioneer are the only ones with all gear and I drag logs at times.
