Morning!
Nice morning here, today is the 3rd trip to get that t-bird going.
He got the parts yesterday, with a little luck they will be correct.

then back into the “moditorium” to get the floor pans done. Then wiring.

My truck is back in the shop yet again. It's under warranty. Been in probably 10 times in the last 18 months. two months ago they had it two weeks, and working with a GM engineer they changer a bunch of sensors. I drove it two weeks and the check engine light comes on again. Back in two weeks rich fuel code work with GM and they change all the fuel injectors. I drive it less than 24 hours and the light comes on again, rich fuel again...WTF!! I was pissed, I raised hell in a nice way, now they say the GM engineer is coming here to figure it out. Time for a new truck. and NOT a GMC.

That's a lot of work needed in a short time, I'd be pissed and looking elsewhere too.

I have had a few oder GMC's never a big issue ran them all into the ground. They used to be the go to truck for me.

Sound like they are just throwing parts at it in hope to solve the problem. A bent pin on the ecm or a pinched wire can cause a pile of problems.

had a ford edge that kept running out of gas. Could only go a couple hundred miles on a tankful. the heater core was replaced, and entire dash was removed. When they re-assembled it,a connector had a bent pin. It wasnt running the auxillary pump to move fuel to main fuel sump. Three days to figure that one out.

Dont GMC lives matter?

My '91 4.3 with 5 spd served me very well until I got the '13 Hemi Express. The steering column of all things forced it's departure. The repair costs were higher than the truck value. 190K miles, 1 set of brakes, 1 fuel pump, 1 ignition control unit, there was that issue with the paint on the roof fleeing the scene one rainy afternoon :realcrazy:.

Im not convinced there is any durable truck now. They all have issues. Premature failure of almost everything. The plastic parts in the interior fail from normal use, seat belts not working or sticking. Fine wires in door jamb breaking. Calipers hanging up. All this new technology, stuff is supposed to be better(according to msrp) not 10 warranty claims in 18 months. All these auto manufacturers all use one basic supplier for everything.
Low Bidder.

I have an 07 f150 in my lineup, was given to me. Runs decent and a little repairable rust.
Went to move it the other day, steering is locked up,the u-joints on the steering shaft siezed. I have to stand beside the truck to get enough power to turn the wheels. Shaft is $500. Insane.
All the calipers and rotors are junk. Theres a grand easy. Couple exhaust manifolds and who knows what front end is like. I was going to fix it and sell it. My cash outlay and labour would be like 4 grand. And it would be a tough sell. Not doing it.

find a decent square body chevy, throw the same money at it and make double what i have into it.

From what little I know, I told them I felt it was whatever chip or computer board that reads the sensors is bad. Most the time they'd check the code and find nothing wrong. Who knows, but I know I'm tired of it. Some of the cash we get from selling our paid for current house is going towards a new truck.

That sucks. I see a buy back in your future. Arrange a meeting with the GMC service rep for your dealer and have all your repair order copies with you. Very sternly but politely give them 1 more chance to repair ir or buy it back and make sure you let them know you have talkde to your attorney. (he is the only winner here) LOL We had a couple buy backs when I worked at the dealer and they were justified. We did everything we could to fix the issue and when the factory couldn't repair it than was the end.
