Stop in for a cup of coffee

So...... I think I'm married to this 2000 Silverado 1500, that belongs to my buddy ( guy bought the GTS ). It's been here for two weeks. Oil change and filters, drivers door motor and regulator, ALL new GM brake lines. A/C issues. He wants it working. Charged it last week, and it ran fine. Lost the charge after about 5 days. Trying to find leaks are tough on these. Added dye, looked for leaks, found none. Was worried about the evaporator being bad, cause you gotta pull the dash to get to it properly. Added some AC leak stop to it yesterday, thinking maybe an O ring or such. Sat overnight. My gauges said it lost some charge overnight. Finally saw a small leak at the high side charging port when I disconnect. So now, evacuate the system again. New valves are coming ( gonna change em both ). Vacuum system down AGAIN and introduce new R134 and pag oil. It just never ends with this Truck....:mob::mob:
If it was easy anyone could do it. Not just us dumbasses!!

Morning coffee land, more work on the corvair today. Fixed all the shoddy work, safe to drive now. Then we started to restore the inside to as new.
Stay safe tooljunkie, all that smoke is hard on the old body.

The smoke is super thick today. Whole town smells like fire place ash. Visibility is low as well. Starting to load up race trailer for another trip to Ark. concrete crew postponed pouring pad (again) . Beginning to think the pad is cursed. They have promised to pour it next week. Contractors are just throwing out stupid bids as a result of supply and demand. Folks are paying the ridiculous up charges which then push’s back the regularly scheduled work. The margins are becoming insane. I just got a bid on a 200amp disconnect nema4x box in plastic for 10,870 dollars. Same device all stainless just under three grand? WTF?

WOW !!!

Stopping in to thank everyone involved in getting this very cool T-shirt to me, @Old man ray kept me informed and I bet he took care of the cost for me, thank you all.
Hot, 108 feels like temp here in northeast Arkansas, on the hill it's not so bad i am sure.

Everyone have a good day, stay cool and smoke free if you can.

Damn, I slept through all the quakes, shakes, fires, and tsunami's.
Ever since I started back at work at 4 am I have been so out of it. SO i got home and just went to bed. So good morning for the second time.

So i decided the rims i plan on using are too narrow.4”.
So i did the right thing and threw it on my brake lathe and scored it. Cutoff wheel on grinder to finish it and will add 2” strip to inside. Lets see what happens…

Cut the strips out of other wheels of suitable size? Be good to have a lathe with the capabilities to do all the cutting, trimming, and truing.

Like so many car guys I loved ZZ Top’s music. I have been going down rabbit hole after rabbit hole today watching old videos of them playing. Blue Jean Blues still a favorite. I mean seriously, who doesn’t like the line I know their mine by the smell of oil and gasoline!

Got Radiator in, hoses on, need new heater hose, the old to short, I want them off the engine some, more on the fender... Closer....

I was told to put Cow manure on my strawberries to make them sweeter. I don't know, I still prefer Whipped cream!!!!

I started the day early early painting wood trim on the house. I got a few done before the work crews showed up.
Tree trimmer here today. Of course he has the big bucket truck set up in the driveway when the contractor remodel crew shows up a day early ...no big deal it worked out.
Tree trimmer lost a 300 pound or more cotton limb off a rope pully and dropped it 60 feet onto the driveway. :wtf: Yep he has a crack to fix. If all I have going on it might be late fall before its done. With the heat they only worked until noon.
While they were there I took their power extended pole trimmer and trimmed a couple trees in the back yard. Cheryl said from the back patio the view wasn't quite right :BangHead:...really?? An hour and a half trimming, trim, up to the porch and look, back and forth a few times until I said screw it, to hot, and just did some cutting. I guess she should of been there. Two hours clean up and hauling the limbs out to the street. They will be back tomorrow to finish up the clean up and grind the last few stumps.
Remodel crew finished up the kitchen demo. I now have a nice set of kitchen cabinets that will be saved for the shop and attached garage. They come back tomorrow to demo the master vanity and clean up the floors for the Tuesday floor installation.
Lots going on all good!!

On my old cars i take the easy way out and throw all the A/c stuff on the pile.

It gets in the way and is expensive to fix and maintain

That's what vent wing winders are for....

How not to pack something.
Hint hint!
If it's Fragile DO NOT just drop it in one of these unwrapped.
And expect, except for dumb luck to expect it to arrive still intact.
Nice guy, it arrived as described. Im just amazed it survived.
Not saying who sent it or what it is . Just a suggest on packing.
