If you don't already have the plywood, probably cheaper to hire a rigging crew.
I was being funny about the plywood, but might be worth checking into a safe moving company.
OK gang... time to get gettin. Need to figure out how to get a 1,000 pound safe up a flight of basement stairs

Be safe.

Happy Groundhog Year

I realized that.
I pulled a piano up two flights of steps once with the plywood come along setup
Then again, that was about 20 years ago.

692 messages...nope. I hope all is well out there. Happy New Years Eve.

Pay some one to do it! Mitch found some guys that used to know some guys that still know guys that can do it? If not they might know some women that know some gals that are married to some guys that still do it once in a while! You know that guy right?

Put a flotation device strong enough to support it and flood the house it will float up the steps.
Gee I thought of that without a single beer.

Had two safe companies turn me down. They don't have the staff to do moves.

About 60 miles between locations.

I can get a 1500lb rated, power stair climber for $150/day from sunbelt. 3/4 ply is $60 a sheet at Lowes...

My wood stove is around 650lb. I took half of it apart (was used and needed rebuilt anyway) for 2 of us to get it DOWN several steps through my Bilco door. So, yeh...1000lbs UP a full flight:

Yeah, down side of high end security is increased weight. I could pull the fireboard out but that's not going to make much difference and will just mess up the interior.

Stair climber and a ramped trailer is what I'm thinking. Probably use a come along as a belay line.
