Stop in for a cup of coffee

2 weeks ago we were invited to the opening of the new small bridge over the canal for the children to have easier access to school. Then last week the local party chief invited us to this school for a celebration and appointment of scholarships for four children. Lifetime scholarships. We also donated money to that need. Chin received a plaque and some flowers as did all of the others that donated. Then a small party afterwards. Pretty interesting that we are now being invited to local events by the local government party chief.

That's great, always good to invest in the future, Chin looks happy and unassuming in the pic, also liked that they had food AND beer, nothing wrong with that!

Ran down to the NAPA store last night to get some brake line fittings. G$@# Maps stated they would close at 5 so had I get there in a hurry. Turns out it was actually 6:00pm close. Manager was busy, had a delivery driver broke down and employees trying to bail as the day was about to end. I told him it was cool and just browsed around while he got things sorted.
Took all he had for fittings. Things are getting thin.

Anyhow, he dropped a 15% discount on me for being patient.

What goes around comes around, glad he took care of you price wise and had what you needed.

I did the pop with one of those with the nice copper?/steel line easy to bend.
Copper/nickel. Very nice to work with. And lasts forever.

so i pulled the old brake line off the Fargo, bent it up to throw in scrap bin. That stuff made nice radius bends without kinking. I was shocked,70 year old brake line. So the technology was there to make nice bendable line, yet all the line we get now is garbage by comparison. All the advancements in metallurgy and manufacturing and the off the shelf line kinks if you look at it the wrong way…

Morning all. Survived the softball doubleheader last night 105 heat index at the start it was a hot one. We won both games.
Three hours of softball by they time I got done.
It was after midnight before I could wind down and go to sleep.
A long day today especially with the Styx concert tonight.

Enjoy the concert. On my bucket list. Wanted to get on one of those rock n roll cruises, Styx was featured a few years ago.

Going to be a great night with Loverboy and REO Speedwagon.
Funny part it wife is one of those musical inclined people who knows all the words to all their poplar songs.
Nice!
We saw Def Leppard a few years ago, was a good time

Never a good start to the day when you wake at 0530 and the AC is already running...UGH!!

Good Morning everyone. Scheduled for 95° and humid today. Back is killing me, but I am here and get to work in the AC at least. Marie landed a job yesterday, she will be outdoors all day - everyday unless storming, then they get moved to inside work. Ugh, not for me but I suppose you could get used to it.

She there with you now or back in AZ??

She is here still. Just checking things out and seeing how we are together. She had the opportunity to come here and try it. I wasn't able to do the reverse, so here we are, seeing how each day goes. Could leave any day or stay a while. Time will tell.

Just fried up a pound of bacon that I bought in Saigon. Will keep most of it in the refrigerator for cheeseburgers and whatnot. But I just had a couple of pieces of that bacon with some of the famous Vietnam fried chicken that I buy here from Lottieria. The fried chicken taste almost like KFC. I buy four or six pieces at a time and keep them in the refrigerator for a quick snack or if I know I have to go drink with the gang I'll eat a piece or two. Quite handy.
