Stop in for a cup of coffee

I have a desk day today. I am meeting with all of our Instructors tonight to discuss Red Dot training. I am working on a the outline and curriculum for the class all day today. Another Instructor who is retired AF does a great job in this arena and I lean heavily upon him. Once we get the curriculum refined a bit we post it for all the instructors and they critique and red pen it. In this way we have a pretty darn good platform long before it gets to a student. We will then go thru the class (as instructors) posing as students to see how it flows. Most folks never see all the background, research and effort that goes into a hands on class. It takes us months to create a new class. When teaching I truly love the feedback loop I get from my students. If you create a positive peer to peer learning environment they as students have the confidence to openly comment on what worked and what didn’t for them. In this way the curriculum gets stronger and I become a better instructor. Win win!

Systems Approach to Training...

Met an owner of another 67 Barracuda notch yesterday when I pulled in at the supermarket.
Black with a 'lace' roof.

He owns a couple of antique stores in the area (I might call them junk stores, but I didnt say that!) I'll stop in and check the closest one out at some point. Seemed like a nice guy.

Look vaguely familiar to ya does it? Hah! Why reinvent the wheel right?

Exactly... especially when you're learning objectives are performance-based. Did a lot of that at SOTIC for the hard-target interdiction development and at MFF for refinement of existing POI... we just had a lot of statistical data to work around as a joint school. Force demands, contact hours and instructor quotas. I think I still have the books around here somewhere

I've always liked the 500 vs the Daytona.....and still like it better today.

As awkward as joint schools are to get off the ground and execute I always felt the curriculum and detail was superior to “Branch” specific schools. Just my .02

He used a Nascar frame and stretched it to fit, then set the rusty body on it. Big block Mopar and a 727.

I have watched the build of that car, he skinned the Charger body over a late model stock car chassis that he stretched. I have a Charger, build a tube frame from the B pillar back with stock style suspension in hopes to keep it a tad more period correct. Franklin quick change for the rear (likely and has Wide 5 hubs). Then need decide if to go to tube frame the whole way or just tie it in up near the firewall. Full stock car cage, 400 BB, 4spd OD. Very low, rough patina body. I have a flush back window for the car, and 68 Coronet fenders for the headlight buckets, and a 68 Coronet grill already. But....nothing says wow like a ratty, race inspired Daytona on the freeway...But again, I never see C500s around. There are 3 wing cars locally, all stock.

Yep. Sore this morning. Lower back. How's that song? You have to learn to fall before you learn to fly....well I got the falling down....
