Stop in for a cup of coffee

Sabret is the one you want in NY. At Carlisle a customer brought me a Dozen NYC Bagels. Some how they survived. Just had one hard to beat them.

There's a place near here that gets NYC bagels brought in daily.... (and there is a Speakeasy entrance through the bagel shop that is VERY cool)

Tell ya what, next time I head to Chicago, you pick the pizza place, on my tab lol

There's lots of foods 'native' to Chicago...

Italian beef sandwiches... Dating back to the stock yard days...

BBQ ribs... Chicago hot dogs...

Lots of great burritos... Many ma and pa burrito shops around here - puts Taco Bell to shame...

The food around here is nothing like what I am used to in NY. Everything is seriously bland. My daughter loves the wifes Eyetailian and it is spicy, not overly though. Her husband cant handle it at all. Different places different foods.

They had a bunch of "New York Bagel Factory" shops in Detroit...

I miss them... They had great bagels and a big selection of flavored cream cheese to put on them... I liked the pecan cream cheese...

I bet the real New York bagels are better...

It is the water there seriously. We used to bring back a few gallons every time we went back.

It's Trailduster Tuesday!

Good morning :D

the superintendents either thought I was good at it or wanted to get rid of me . "Go get Alex. He'll do it. He'll do anything."

I worked as a mechanic at a local towing company when I was in college... One day I had to change the clutch in a Mercury Bobcat with a 4 cylinder engine... I had the trans out and the new clutch in and needed to put the trans back up...

The bosses' brother told me to borrow the trans jack from the shop next door as ours was broken...

I didn't feel like walking there and dragging it back... (It was farther than just next to us - in the same strip of shops)

So I had the other mechanic my age (Gary) hand me the trans while I layed on the creeper... I then scooted under the car and bench pressed the trans up and got it in place and finished bolting it back in...

A little while later, the bosses' brother came in and saw the trans back in and asked how it got in there... Gary said, "Karl did it".... (not taking credit for my work...)

Then the bosses' brother said, "Karl, you just fucked up... You are now the official trans guy".... :BangHead:

Good morning guys…Cracker Barrel just before FL line…

I need to get to my local Cracker Barrel... I've been craving a plate of fired chicken and a side of mashed potatoes for a few weeks now...

The bar that got me the craving for them has dropped them from their menu... :icon_fU:

Nope...

At least not at Advance/ Carquest, Autozone or O'Reilly

I have a couple slant 6 core engines in the back... 65 and 66 vintage...

If you need a thermostat housing, let me know... I can look to see if there is one on either of the engines...

Thanks Karl

Supposed to have one at the parts store this afternoon to pick up. If it is CRAP I'll hit you up.

Agree...Don't get me started..30 yrs in the parts business. No help anymore...:mob:

There was an old black guy named Richard at the local Short's parts store near Detroit that I went to... he was great... If it was available, Richard knew where to find it...

When the other guys in the store couldn't find it, ask Richard and he knew what catalog to find it in...

There aren't any guys like Richard around any more...

I once ordered a part and Richard said, "I just sold you one of those a few months ago"...

I replied, "This is for another one that I have"...

He would remember what parts he sold me... He was a walking encyclopedia for parts...

Late breakfast. Fresh sea scallops sauteed with butter and garlic. And an orange to keep it all healthy.

The manufacturers wanted to sell more product so they told the warehouse distributors to sell it direct. Eventually it drove the small auto parts businesses out of business. Glad I saw the handwriting on the wall 22 years ago. Now they got price and no service. Nobody in a parts store knows any damn thing. You know what I'm talking about Mike

I know what you mean....

When I sold my businesses to Carquest 22 years ago, I brought home most of the pertinent catalogs. Still use them when I need them today. I brought home especially the catalogs on brakes and ignition and front end parts for older cars.

Ok Richard...

I hate electronic storage I don't have control of. I have onedrive on phone and computer. Allows me to see my pics etc from either. WHEN IT WORKS. Was just trying to look at some saved pics and had to figure out where it was hiding them. :BangHead:

Yeah...

Grab an external USB drive. The cost is low. I keep one in a Faraday bag inside the safe

I have some external hard drives for storage... ranging from 4 - 12 TB....

I don't trust the clouds for storage...
