Love those Studes!
Thinking some of the same. Lots neglected stuff outside, lol. Maybe get the hedge trimmer buzzin. Want to at least get a look at the shift linkage on the Duster. Was thinking I would try to mod it. Might just pop another plastic grommet thing in so I can get a couple miles on it before it snows. Don't know if anyone has them local, maybe order today.Mornin' time
Much to get about today. Yard chores and car wrenching
FyI...just threw a wanted ad up for an A904 pushbutton transmission fur the 64 Valiant. (Slant 6) Thinking I may want to start a rebuild. The more I work on this thing the more broke it gets
(Wish I could find that quote)
Anyhooo lemme know if you East of the Mississippi guys know of one. Don't think I want to deal with shipping such a thing
Make sure and take a shower after working on a camry, don't want to risk Toyota kooties getting on your good cars.Had to jack the engine halfway out of this Camry to get the belt tensioner on. One long bolt that hits the frame and wont come out unless you jack engine up...Ok..done...On to valve cover gasket, which requires many brackets and wire harnesses to move out of the way. Think I'll wait till tomorrow to install the new JVC stereo, since I'm pretty grimy right now.....
I can get one out of a 64 valiant but it's here in Colorado and it's been sitting in the car in a yard for at least 15 years that I've known it, but I bet that could be doubled in reality. (Probably more like 30 years)
Why can’t you go by yourself?I need to do more video footage on my 72 crew cab dart.
I can't travel by myself to the nonamenationals but I'm trying to build a car for it even through I'm saying upfront that I won't make it. It's too far into the unknown and my parents would flip if I told them I was going that far by myself.
The 72 dart is a cherry car but someone robbed the front end and dash to clone some duster into a demon **rolls eyes**
I have the parts to bring it back and save an otherwise very nice 72 dart 4 door.
No rust anywhere, so it needs to live
Cruisin' Grand Escondido — Curbside Car Show CalendarAll caught up. Did cruising grand last night. What a zoo. Get there early and you can find a good parking spot. Like 2pm early. Then either hang out 4 hours or like we did go to a local Italian restraunt bar. Then cruise up and down grand for a while. Then your forced to come home. No where to park. Still fun..
Take a gun. You won't be by yourself then.
Not overheating. Summit under dash gauge indicates 200 - 205. Instrument panel gaurge is right in the middle...

Not unless you drop the valve body.
However, you can use a mirror and see it. Make sure the balls of the dent are making good contact. Again, easier with a helper in the car.
you can also use a bore scope
The Park cable' from what I've seen is just to keep it in the Park position yes? Figure I can adds weight and string to manage that.
Shift cable is definitely a two person task.
Am I getting that right?
I tried it and couldn’t get it right without someone holding it
I dont always check the band adjustment but yea its a good idea.
Get a CO2, The dry chem ones eat aluminum and paint. Ask me how I know!
did you just yank it?
My grandmother had a '62 300 with a push button in it. I was 6 yrs old and knew I wanted no part of it .
