They are, the ones I like in good working condition $800 ish and up to 2KThere are tube testers all over the place on Craigslist under $100. I was thinking of getting one but a friend has 4 of them I can use.

The guitar guys love those. Most of the old amps need a tube or come new capacitors.Matt is moving his shop actually down the raoad literally from me. Should be a cool office, pinball, juke box, old test equipment and a old school store tube tester that works like the ones you were able to bring your tube to the tv repair shop and test yourself, should be a cool office!
