No just working at one of our generation sites doing communications. This project is "dam grouting" so yep the dam is old and leaking, they are plugging it up, 5 yearish project. Yesterday we were helping get one of their cameras on the network and also wiring up a data logger, snooze.Your a dam worker? LOL
That would be an interesting job what part you working at.
Recycled Base is funny stuff. Not every rock farm has the capability to make it even though the prime ingredient/tore up streets is everywhere. A lot of contractors hoard the stuff because so often it is now part of new construction plans on public projects. If you can get the straight concrete stuff, yeah, little water and some compaction, it ain't goin' nowhere for a long time.Mitch gets this stuff with concrete ground up in it. Packs great, cant find it here.
We do that here with highway construction. Grade it up, grind it, and use it in the mix for the new surface.Recycled Base is funny stuff. Metal roof you have to have them. The plastic ones crack. Get metal and over all the door areas. We got about 5 or 6" of snow. Damn it is wet and heavy. Of course it slid off the garage roof and mounded up right in front of the door. I think I need some of those snow tabs on the roof to prevent that.
Hard to get good gravel around here as well. Not sure yet he is sending a bill. Last time I bought actual gravel it was 450 a load. That was about 5 years ago. I loved breaker rock it was just the transport, but with the coal mines decreasing output you cannot get it any more!
Gotta do that to my garage I like the metal roof but snow slides off and like you say makes a mess.We got about 5 or 6" of snow. Damn it is wet and heavy.
