Mine likes the nexguard like a snack, and it works great.
I did talk with my buddy Mark from Salt Lake City last night. He hears the salt is good this year and will be fast if the rains stay away. Discussed next years trip.
my group is still talking about going. Hopefully they can get their cars done in time to actually make next years trip.

Back space will depend on the overall rim width and to some degree the rim material.
Easiest way may be to borrow a similar rim with tire on it, bolt it up and see how much clearance there is.
If you're going to factory type steel rims, does the car still have its spare tire? That would give you a baseline.
