it is porcelain coated. The bad part is the tub is on the second floor and when it was set, the builders set it in concrete so replacing it would require jackhammers and that would be a real PITA.PIA if its porcelain coated.
Look into appliance pait. it's an epoxy, but i would smooth out and chips that you can first.no regular tub.
