OK, this messed with my brain a bit. Had to do some quick google searching. The affiliation with Mitsubishi began in 1970. Kinda blows my mind that they were rebranding Galants as Colts in the same year the 71 Hemi Cuda rolled off the line. :eek:

The 1978 models also saw the introduction of the first diesel-powered Dodge pickup truck. Available as an economy choice in the D/W 150 and 200 trucks was Mitsubishi's 6DR5 4.0L inline six-cylinder naturally-aspirated diesel, rated at 105 hp (78 kW) at 3500 rpm, and 230 N·m (169 lb·ft) at 2200 rpm.

I just searched and found an article about the Mitsubishi, but I caint find anything about the Perkins. Maybe I imagined it. LOL

Through some connections we got a special tour of Pearl Harbor on the Deputy Fleet Commanders boat. The Fleet Commanders boat house was pretty cool. What a rough job working there.

I miss being in the mountains of Guatemala this time of year. Something about 60's and 70's year round makes it nice.

Off idle stumble, my experience is squirter size. Light car usually wants a larger size squirter whereas a heavier car wants a smaller one. I had to step my squirter size up on the Demon last summer.

When I moved my 950 3 barrel from my truck #28 squirter to my hot rod i had to swapped all the way to a #40. The demon I had to buy new squirters as they don't make any different sizes for the 660 center squirters and drilled them out, one size at a time until I got it. Factory is 0.025 and I drilled 2 to 0.033" to fix it.
 
Chin is off all day today. Daughter is at the Nail Shop...With a little Ice and whatnot on the roads, Chin and I have just been Laying around all Day.... :lol:
 
Seeing Foreign Diesels in American equipment is not very common, but it absolutely did happen........

Happened a lot until Cummins, Detroit and International made the things smaller to fit in trucks.

Heck, a lot of people don’t realize that Mitsubishi made most of Chryslers front wheel drive engines in the late 80s and into the late 90s
