Bit of a scary ride home last night in the Jeep, hit one of Indianas potholes and the front track bar retaining bolt broke in half, nearly flipped as the axle tried to go one way and the Jeep tried to go the other. Just happened to have a space bolt for the engine stand for the Cummins that worked. So bye bye factory metric grade 5 and hello SAE grade 8

That can be scary. Sucks when you trust component kits (lift and suspension kits) to have good hardware where it is needed. Glad you are safe.

Problem with bolts are, an it's been that way for a long time. Most sold are counterfeit.
Always save your receipts for anything you buy.
About the only way to confirm the are what is stamped is if you buy them in bulk, by the keg. Then you get pedigree papers or Certs. Same as when you buy steel, and such for construction.
Fastenal certify their bolts.

Guy showed up here with a totally effed up f150. He puts truck in reverse and left wheel turns almost 90 degrees. The lift was done so bad, bolts missing, wrong size and parts of the frame cracked right out. When i was done it was all grade 8, and locktite on every bolt.
