Stop in for a cup of coffee

This thing cracks me up, wife got it as a drink in Old Vegas a few years ago. She's been adding upgrades to it, this year was adding to the base and a coat of nude paint (was clear).

I have the battery pulled out of our generator since I had to jump it last storm (PM fail). Was a little more work than thought having to pull the wheel and some bracketry but makes sense with all the vibration in a gen. Anyhoo we got back late from shopping, battery's in the shop. Forecast today winds 25-35 mph, 90% chance of rain and 1/2" accumulation, not sure what the gusts will be but hope I we don't lose power.

Now to get all those shingles up on the house, will be renting a ladder lift when I know one of the boys will be here to lay them out on the top few feet.
When we (mostly the two young sons) was unloaded off the trailer my wife says "it's times like this I'm glad I had two sons and no girls" I said if I had a doughter she would be out here helping, wife said no she wouldn't! One of my sons said I don't know mom, I think dads right, because he knew how I raised them
7 roofs one summer, friend had a power ladder, worked slick. Two families did all the work. No, it was 3. One buddy didnt listen and walked off the roof, crushed both heels. We had to finish his roof without him.But all our kids were young. So they picked up nails and shingles that missed the trailer.

Son of a contractor... My summers were spent cleaning up job sites and painting foundation tar until I was a teenager

Time to get, having my work truck battery replaced today by mechanic, never have had one smell like sulphur, coming in through the vents. Guess it's a battery kind of week, anyhoo have a Great Day All and Mitch be good : )

Morning!
All caught up.
Lots of heavy snow yesterday, so i had to do some plowing.
Cutting parts for step brackets, last cut and my coldsaw quit. Turns out factory missed the spade, boot on female terminal was what was holding the connection together. Easy fix.
Welding today.

So go to that old 1850 to present machine shop I use yesterday with my friend Matt. Holy crap did wee geek out. Think a football field size building from then to present with all the old machinery still in it. OK two hours on that floor then get the VIP rockstar tour of the second floor that was the engineer spaces, offices etc. Holy crap they have all the records, reciepts history, drawings of every single part they made for each machine they made. Matt was going nuts over the old clocks desks and furniture and drafting tables. Place should be a freaking museum. Great way to waste 4-5 hours! What got me was this Bank like safe/room. Could not figure out wht a machine shop would need one. Had to ask. Well back in the day they had 500 plus employees and they paid in cash each week. Light came on then.
