Still extremely pissed about what I posted yesterday... Already 6-7 pages buried....
Next time I need something out of cedar rapids I either send someone else or I make the seller meet me a few towns away I guess..... I don't need their crap (talking local govt there)

Ok I realize the majority of you are not avid hockey fans but for those of you who are. This is funny

What happened? (Cliff note version)

You can buy them everywhere. A single barrel kit is in the $60-70 renge and the double barrel kit is in the $150-200 range. Set a box fan behind it and warm up the whole shop. When the barrel wears thin, just unbolt the pieces and bolt thm on a new barrel. They work great. BIL had a single barrel stove in his garage for years. Your insurance company might not like it though. double barrel stove kit - Google Shopping

Time to get, having my work truck battery replaced today by mechanic, never have had one smell like sulphur, coming in through the vents. Guess it's a battery kind of week, anyhoo have a Great Day All and Mitch be good : )
Could be overcharging as well.

Got brackets welded up, cut my 2x2 to 5 foot pieces. Got one of those air jacks for Christmas, think its going to be handy. Gets really tall too. Made caps for the square tubes, guess i should weld them up. Then thats my day. Maybe not. Got two winter tires for kid’s car, should drag some wheels out. Or not.

Here's your cliff notes version. 2 weeks later I get a damn speeding ticket in my mailbox
..11 over... Apparently the least amount they write tickets for out there. Farkers....
A pic of my truck, my plate, I have no idea where it may have been taken. I have an address but before that day I'd never been there so not familiar with the area
I guess they have cameras for BS like that like the county that's 2 counties North of where I live...
Clue... That county isn't in Iowa like the one where I got taken a picture of....

Double check but Iowa red light camera tickets don't go on your driving record and if you don't pay it, they won't have a warrant out for your arrest.
But, check on that before you shred the ticket.

Challenge it
I don't know how, if it would require a trip back out there just the fuel would be more than what they're wanting for the ticket....
Plus time off work because I'm sure they don't hold traffic court on weekend.
I've never had a ticket by mail like that I don't know how I'd go about a challenge.
I know I'm o-fer in in person challenges here in Illinois because most judges are like "You're here, you got the ticket, that automatically makes you guilty, shut up and pay"..... There is no innocence til proven guilty here, no benefit of a doubt, just bend over and let us pilfer your pockets... Even when I've had proof or solid evidence of the contrary they simply throw it out and/ or won't admit it to the case.... Luckily I haven't had to cross that bridge in several years either ..

This was speeding 66 in 55, not a red light deal.
It's especially aggravating being that according to how I understand what I read "11 over" is the lowest number they pull this crap for ..
Wasn't alot of traffic that day, dry roads, cold but clear sky, no snow/ice/salt in roads anywhere I was that day
Judging by the time on the ticket it was shortly before I got off that road, as I was at the guys house where I went to buy parts just after 11, ticket was 10:38. I had left my house at 06:45 so I had been in the road at that point just under 4 hours at that point. I made 1 stop for about 15 min at Iowa 80 truck stop for a hot chocolate and pee break since I left the house before I got to the guys house.
After I left there I went like an hour further west to a second parts stop. Total I was on the road about 12-1/2 hours. I had stop #3 after dark, back here in Illinois.

Not being devils advocate here, but what does how long you have been driving make a difference. If you were speeding you were speeding, what difference does it make if a camera got you or an officer? Like Toolman said most speed camera tickets don't have points.

I was pissed when I got my second one. $75 each but I was in the wrong and I paid them whether they go on your record or not. I understand that if you get too many they can get you for being a habitual violator. They have proof.

Sorry but you're a victim of the system. There's no recourse

Guess what. In most places a company goes out to communities, and they give them a contract and like 90% of the $$ goes to the company. No points and no real tickets, just a cash game. And this info came from the city police where I got mine.
