My Barber is a Vietnamese national (South Vietnam). He goes back every couple a years to see family. I've been telling him for years, I wanted to go. So... He invited me along this year. Looking very much forward to it. I'ts a much changed country sine the 60' ans 70's. Apparently becoming somewhat of a tourist destination. Been watching Youtube Vids. It's actually quite beautiful there. Glad I'll have an interpreter, although many Vietnamese now speak good english. Just him and I.. No Wifey...Be there for a Month.. Should be a Ball !!

so ive heard. I'd like to go as well one day. go out into the jungle, hunt for some of our KIAs,MIAs etc

cnn was just saying that its now been proven that zika cannot cause the birth defects in Brazil is now admitting they think the birth defects were caused by the huge increase in pesticides used during the lead up to the olympics. Guess they started spraying almost 2 years ago and thats coincides with the increase in birth defects....

Going with your friend who's an insider, makes all the difference, obviously! Not your first time going to exotic countries, you know already to bring some Cipro and other meds to help your system handle the food there, my Vietnamese friend says he has to adjust every time he visits...

I think you're better off eating from street corner food stands than proper restaurants. They cook stuff on the spot, no time for it to go bad. Restaurants, you have no idea what's going on in the kitchen.

At least that's what my uncle says. He has a house in rural Thailand. They never eat for over a dollar.
