Stop in for a cup of coffee

Got my condenser job done. Powerwashed, especially the radiator, after I pulled the condenser. While I was on a roll I painted the grills and lower lamp fill-ins. The black plastic was getting chalky. Also polished my headlights to clear the haze that was coming back again. I guess once the coating is gone you just have to keep doing them.

Sand headlights with 2000 grit sandpaper and clear coat them with clear coat with a aerosol can, they will look good for a long time.

I spent the afternoon fixing a small sink-hole at the top of the concrete steps going down to the basement. This neighborhood sits on a granite ridge and when they built the houses, they excavated the ground, blasted the rock, poured the foundations and then back filled the dirt. Since they used heavy equipment, they didn't get very close to the foundations and just pushed the dirt back in leaving air pockets under the fill since it wasn't compacted. Small holes form around the foundation and in the yard nearby over time when the rain collapses the top fill into the air pocket below. I have filled a bunch of these since I moved in because the previous owners never did, and just left the holes and depressions.

With all the rain this week after a long dry summer, a 12" deep pocket showed itself in at the top of the steps about 4' wide extending 15" into the yard. I found it by accident when I stepped on the ground in front of the steps and it suddenly gave way and I sank into the ground halfway to my knee. I spent the rest of afternoon digging it out to make sure I knew how wide and deep it really was and then back filling it (in layers) using paver base, compacting each layer as I went. It took about 200 lbs of base to get it all filled in and level. Then I ran water over it for a good long time between layers and compacted it again to make sure all air pockets were filled.

I think I destroyed my lower back carrying the buckets of fill into the back yard, but at least the hole is solidly filled.

Back home from camping. Note to self, camping with a 2.5 yr old and a 8 month old isn't as bad as it sounds, just tiring

So pretty much like trying to do anything organized with a 2.5 yr old and a 8 month old, right?

Still sounds like a good time. I miss camping, we used to go about a dozen times every year. But we got away from it with all of the moving around and job changes. We haven't been camping since 2003. :(

I said last year that I am a steelers fan as long as they are not playing Denver.

Go steelers!!

Today is a good day. Patriots lose !! Denver wins ....again, and steelers are kicking butt

Today is an awesome day ......Patriots got spanked, did I mention today is a great day

I'm guessing it's a great day!

Yeah were down to 1 time a year, used to go multiple times. But work and kids get in the way plus trying to stay on a budget.

Good morning, all! I'm in a hurry to get to 'work' now but I really wanted to go through this before I leave.
and maybe Jimmy Carter likes peanuts...
This I do not understand.

I found this pic online. Think i need to paint my Scout silver.

Sweet! Can't remember ordering it, though. :D

Whooo... Hwooo.... Looks Yummy !!
It was.

Evening all
Beer and hot dogs for me. Over a campfire
Beats lobster any day.

So I went and looked at that '67 Belvedere II today. The car runs and drives, 383 auto with an 8-3/4 rear. It's all there and fairly straight. It's also a Missouri car so the rust isn't bad. Just needs a bunch of work and $$ to restore it. They are asking $5800. IDK if I want another project, but maybe if I could get it for under $4k...

I like that car. A little on the expensive side, I agree, but doesn't look to be in that bad shape. I LOVE the wheels. The upholstery - not so much ...

$1,058 per lb!!? that's a typo right?
'fraid not.

Europeans use a comma where we use a decimal point...and vice versa.
Correct. But I always format things so 'mericans can understand me.

no typo
20,000.00 SEK = 2,336.00 USD
2.20462 lb per kg
I get $1059.59/lb
expensive piece of tail there...:D
Yup. Mine was only about $30/pound.

That is for a first catch auction. Not a normal selling price.
Exactly. It's prestigious to serve the first lobster of the season so restaurants make crazy bids. Normal price at auction right now is around $50/pound.

I DONT GET STUCK USUALLY FIT IN NICE JUST HELL ON THE BACK. Freaking Harley went into the mud bog yesterday (formally pond) then jumps into the car with me. Nice on velour seats!

Man's best friend, for sure.

Sand headlights with 2000 grit sandpaper and clear coat them with clear coat with a aerosol can, they will look good for a long time.
Great tip. Did this on my old Audi - like new. Be sure to use clear coat for plastic, though. I didn't. It wrinkled up a bit but they're still ok.

at least the football games were awesome.

I missed the Denver game because I took a ride with my cousin to the mountains to see the yellow leaves and all. I returned in time to see the Steelers beat up KC, which I am glad they did.

As per football buddy agreement, I am a Steelers fan as long as they are NOT playing Denver.
