Stop in for a cup of coffee

Jeez, I'm glad I sold my old townhouse when I did. Last night the units across the street from mine went up in flames. This is going to wreck any sales in that neighborhood for at lease a year until they get it all rebuilt.

Thankfully, no one was hurt and all got out safely. Cause is still being determined but I'm betting it was a dryer vent fire based on how they went up in the video I saw.

I have a set (obviously) and a guy on here from Mass is interested... I know I am never going to use them. Are you back from fishing?
Got back this evening. Long drive. Hell of a fun trip tho. I'd love to find out a nice set of sbp rallys is worth more than i think. Mine even have decent tires, but shipping would blow..

nice - I offered them to the guy for $200 plus the ride... he is thinking about it. Meanwhile, I am thinking I could restore them and make some decent ching... ???

Maybe you left some mancakes in there that over heated.

Great to hear no one hurt. anything material can be rebuilt and replaced but people are the most precious thing.

I think you are giving them away at 2 bills. I think if the caps and especially the rings clean up, they should be at least 400 for the set. I had looked for a bbp set around here and I was looking at that much not cleaned up.

The sbp that came off were about the same. I better get to selling!

Shipping the wheels would be a deal killer. If you can sell the whole lot local you should do better cause they know they are not losing there a$$ to UPS. You could let the wheels go cheap on local CL and ebay the goodies asking top dollar.

Yep! We have friends that lived in one of the units that was destroyed and it sucks that they are displaced for the Holidays...but at least they will all still be able to spend it together, alive and safe.

Their high school age son was the one we gave all of my father's old baseball cards and memorabilia to. Amazingly, all that stuff survived the blaze and he will still be able to enjoy them. About 1500 baseball cards, signed balls, plaques, signed vintage photos, etc. Not super valuable (a few thousand $$), but worth a lot to my Dad and equally as much to the kid that got them as a gift from one true fan of the game to another.

Amazing what fate chooses to spare to carry into the future...

Bring them with you to Hoppy's place next year for the Lift Day II get-together. I will bet you could pull a good price for them at Carlisle that weekend if Mitch would let you put them in his spot.
