Yeah, waaaay too high. The factory service life designation is 250k miles so that one is nearing the end of it's life and will need a rebuild soon.202,000
No. Kind of strange. Sometimes in neutral 2k rpm. Dont change anything a few stops later have to feather the throttle to keep from dyingTwitchy foot?
Possibly but I would check the timing first to see if it's bouncing around. I had a worn distributor in mine when I first got it and spent a month chasing what I thought was a carb issue only to fix it by replacing the dizzy. I only figured it out after spending a lot of time with the timing light reving and idling to see it drifting all over the place.Hey guys. Out in town driving the 69 dart. Cant keep idle constant. Put in neutral it is down to 1kNo. Kind of strange. Sometimes in neutral 2k rpm. Dont change anything a few stops later have to feather the throttle to keep from dying
That sound like what mine was doing.No. Kind of strange. Sometimes in neutral 2k rpm. Dont change anything a few stops later have to feather the throttle to keep from dying
weak coil? or maybe a bad ground somewhere -No. Kind of strange. Sometimes in neutral 2k rpm. Dont change anything a few stops later have to feather the throttle to keep from dying
that's possibleVacuum leak?
Yep, plenty of power for gittin around. And this car ain't light. No burnouts with AWD though. LolThey are good with the 3.5L V6 engine, 250 HP and you can get them in AWD too. Keffer's Magnum is AWD with the V6 and my '05 Magnum was too.
Come and go tho?that's possible
what did your wife want?I just got called into my bosses office - again!
THAT is funny!!what did your wife want?
Unlikely with a vacuum leak.Come and go tho?
what about 163,000?Yeah, waaaay too high. The factory service life designation is 250k miles so that one is nearing the end of it's life and will need a rebuild soon.
So back to power valve?Unlikely with a vacuum leak.
Something is sticking, hanging up or not staying in the set position. Carb and dizzy are really the only 2 things that can do that.
The V6 has a longer service life of 300k miles. I think with all of them I'd be looking at where the mileage would be ending up when I was done with the car. If you plan to put 50k miles on it while you own it, cap the miles at around 150k for what you buy. 163k might be fine if the car has been maintained well and has mostly highway miles.what about 163,000?
and the v6, what would be high mileage for them?
Either that or the dizzy. If the mechanical advance is messed up (weights, broken spring, etc) the timing will be all over the place making the idle RPM follow it.So back to power valve?
cool cool, I'm looking to get 2-3 years out of it, maybe less. But I just know the Jeep needs yet another new clutch, making number 5 to go in and im sick of dicking with it.The V6 has a longer service life of 300k miles. Average mileage for normal driving on an '08 model should be right around 120k miles figuring an average of 15k miles per year.
Might be. But it is newEither that or the dizzy. If the mechanical advance is messed up (weights, broken spring, etc) the timing will be all over the place making the idle RPM follow it.
