Seriously thinking of a fireworks permit, had a shop 4 July party here a few years ago and we had a bunch of 6"morters that we were doing for three hours, finally some on called the troopers around midnight, all the stuff was illegal. Pretty funny he comes one guy is puking in the pond, one guy offers him a beer, and he is standing right next to a 5 gal bucket filled with mortars and asked if it was us doing it! No way to deny it then we tell him we just got back the week before from the sand box, he tells us he is in the Air Guard also so we got a pass.
you need a fireworks permit for the 4th of july?! thats the most unamerican thing ive heard yet

Any thing that explodes here you need a permit, Nobody does it there is stuff going on all over the place but this one woman down the street will call the troopers, so figure if we do it right better get a permit. Like $5

So you need a permit when the warranty expires on a Chevy, as it explodes?

oh I'd so be all over that one. Get the permit, then launch right up until the hour limit. For us, its 11pm local time for all days except the 4th of july, which extends to 1 am.

Fireworks F.A.Q.
Whats funny I used to work for a fireworks company in HI on the holidays doing displays so I used to have a license.
i vote we all chip in, get the licenses/permits and loudest stuff we can, then launch right up to the cut off, then start back up the next morning lol

I am not doing anything bigger than 6" here just to many issues with stuff over that if it is defective.

I actually really like the 1.5" festival balls more bang for the buck and never had a bad one. In Hawii we had a 10" blow in the tube it was not good we got hit with shrapnel pretty good and we were 100' away.

Dang hoppy, gotta watch out for the premature "explosions" can become a sticky situation quickly.
