And no, there won't be. We just came out of the "Great Recession" and another one of that magnitude isn't on the horizon. Even that one wasn't anything like the "great depression" was. A well diversified portfolio and intelligent planning can weather either of those. The economy goes on...even in those times.

yeah very true. Which is why I set my 401K up so diverse, I'm also holding some back in a guaranteed fund, low interest gain for now but I think we're nearing the ceiling of the current run and a 5-10% pull back is looming. it'll go back up afterwards but when it bottoms, is when I move from the guaranteed fund into the others.

Very true, but this last reccession, we simply printed trillions of dollars to pull us out faster. I think we're gonna pay the price for that 10 fold in the future. Plus with states mismanaging their own budgets, states like Illinois for example, its a recipe for disaster more so than ever before.

Yeah, I'm still kicking myself for not buying the house I'd looked at during the midst of that. Could have had a house valued at 160k for just 34K, there were so many houses for sale around us as we neared 18% unemployment locally that it killed the real estate market.

They;re still trying to determine a cause to the seizure back in May. So far, all CT scans, MRI's, and other tests are coming back perfectly normal. They've tried twice now to purposely induce a siezure but failed both times. So they've ruled out epilepsy, diabetes, trauma, allergies, cancer, heart disease and several other potential causes.

I have since injured my back and have a lumber tear in my right side of my back i'm dealing with

Thanks and yeah it does. Its actually been a fairly decent week thus far, hoping it continues to heal.
 
have a guy that wants two and they are hard to find, hp/at found one on fleabay but 125 for a core is crazy.

Advice needed.

I can't stand people who deliberately lie about themselves and misrepresent their experiences. Drives me nuts.

Now, let's set the background, My cousin, she is 6 years younger than me, she's 24, almost 25. After she was born, my uncle and his now ex wife lived on the farm for about 18 months, moving to town for a couple months before getting a divorce and then his ex wife got custody of the now 2 yr old and remarried to a professor at a university and moved to SC. My uncle relocated to SC, got a job and such. My cousin has only been back up here about 4 times for a combine total of maybe 2-3 weeks.

Anyway, I get a link sent to me last night by my sister. It's to a newspaper article from a paper in SC, my cousin announced she's running for the city council down there. In the article, she(cousin) brags about having all this experience farming and all the stuff she learned from the hardwork done on the family farm(our grandparent's).

What gets me, she's never so much as lifted a bail of hay, milked a goat, collected eggs, fixed fence, even ridden on a tractor, never lifted a finger on this farm. I have, I spent my entire life busting butt on this farm. It pisses off not only me, but others in this family, that she's claiming to be this farmer chick when she isn't by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm tempted to write a letter to the editor of that paper setting the record straight but that would flame into a giant Hatfields/McCoy situation rapidly.

But I'm also trying to make that next step up since I'm here now and wouldn't need to give notice...

It would be nice to get back to where I was instead of keep working my way up the chain...
