My fathers side was 100% german, he actually did the geneology back to the 1300's, pretty interesting it is on ancestery.com under Warren Brenner.
I researched mine years ago. On my Dads side, I am 9th generations in US. Have the ship record of Conrad Bloss coming over in 1742. Still trying to confirm if he was in the Revolution. DAR says he fought and was killed, but I found their 'proof' to be inconclusive and other family researchers agree with me. There was a Conrad that fought, but have no proof if he was killed and could have been his son or nephew. I did find 9 of my direct ancestors that fought in the revolution A distant cousin is continuing research back into German records. I believe he has info at least into the 1400s
