it looks like X'x in the left grill insert and diamonds in the right grill insert (as we see it on the screen)

Look at the right side of the grill, definitely see them, do like it though.

ah.. its the reflection rate, thats done in a 3D cad file, converting to a jpeg must have messed it a little bit, it happens, thats all a aluminum mesh, no designed features in it

here's a thought - what about that machined swirl look that is being done on inside panels... put that on the grill inserts..

Yes, though sometimes it can be a bear to blast clean first with all those edges and overlap.
