Stop in for a cup of coffee

I can't find him! Just when I could have used help on the car he doesn't show up.

I wouldn't consider it much of a mod if you end up with something that looks like a factory part. Someone had to make it. If you get an aftermarket part that matches original,I would not consider it a mod. So, your part is OEM style made in the Dodge manufacturing Colorado facility.

well, I was feeling overwhelmed to find I need a different bell housing due to wrong bearing retainer size AND I found I need a new crossmember for the 4 speed.

I am a bit relieved now to find that I can modify and use my original cross member

I made a statement yesterday that I don't like to modify parts .....well....I guess I take that back in light of what I discovered with the cross member. Basically the auto and 4 speed cross members are the same EXCEPT the auto has a box section welded to the front of it and the center isn't cut out from the factory. SOOOO to make a 4 speed unit I need to cut of the extra welded on box section and cut out the center and BAM ...4 speed cross member.

I came to this conclusion by reading a thread on Dodge charger dot com and plus I notice that brewers sells a four speed unit but they specify that it was made from an original automatic one. They want a nasty core charge and it works out to close to 200 bucks and I see originals get anywhere from 2 to 2.5 bills.

so today I guess I will get the grinder out and the mini-sawzall and see if I can save myself 200 bucks.

I didn't think about it...I can look on the RC I will try to get down there to look. I am about to run for breakfast with a buddy

Two lines around three feet long, one has a white plastric receptical? thingy on it.from the transfer case shifter area, not to the axel, those are there. Enjoy the Eggs!

Where are they coming from?

On top of the transfer case lever somewhere, I cant get a look at it. The manual has nothing on it or the lights on the dash to show what you are in in the "message" area. I am thinking one is vac and the other? Just a big jigsaw puzzle so far but I found the comers!

Is the one with the white receptacle a vent tube that runs up the firewall to get it higher than the transfer case?

This won't help you a bit, but I pulled the interlock 'pill' out of my Dana 20 t-case and put a twin stick shifter on it. Now front and rear axles can be engaged independent of one another. Kind of a cool mod. Just can't do any drinking and off-roading.. it's possible to put one axle in hi gear and the other in low.. recipe for disaster..

I was looking at something similar to that to eliminate all the vacuum stuff. I will be lucky to put 2k on this a year so it is on the cheap. Just a winter truck and a pecemupparts truck!

We are forecast for 32 tonight so that is like high 20's here. Time to get the garden hoses in I guess.

Morning again. Back from food shopping. Corned beef hash and eggs this morning. Still not allowed coffee.
