Stop in for a cup of coffee

Hey Dave, when you change the rear gears in your SRT, how will the computer deal with the lower ratio? Never changed in a modern computer car before.

Used to be a few settings in the exm when computer was replaced ,tire size and gear ratio. Pinion factor was all i recall

With such a small percentage i doubt the ecm wil have a problem with it.

Cant believe im drinking coffee this late. Kinda almost thinking i dont want to let the 3/4 go. Connected battery and it cranked right up.

We will use a Diablo Sport tuner to change the gear ratio in the PCM and everything else will adjust electronically. That includes speedo, ABS, tranny control module, wheel speed sensors, etc.

If the new ratio isn't changed in the PCM, the car will go into limp mode because it will think the rear wheels are spinning faster than the front wheels.

This is what I was thinking. Thanks...

Nope. Tone ring remains the same. Wheel speed sensors are just that.
The trans output sensor wont co-relate with the wheel speed sensors, but it registers rpm’s and wheels register mph.
With the tuner you are ahead of that issue anyhoo..

When the rear wheel speed sensors say the wheels are turning faster than the speedo, the stability control system cuts power. If it keeps happening, the TCM puts itself into limp mode. The ESC system needs all 4 wheels to correlate with the TCM. Any mismatch that it can’t compensate for, and the car goes into limp mode.

All avoided by giving the PCM the correct gear ratio to work with.

Oh boy, I’m feeling the effort of moving and leveling all that paver base now. I’m going to be sore tomorrow.

Funny thing is, the individual bags of that stuff weigh about what I’ve lost for weight so far. As I was carrying them around I was thinking “Jeez, these are heavy, how did I even function carrying this extra weight on my body 24/7 last year?”

It was slightly better aligned with your core and legs when it was inside your skin.
 I'm sure its still better for you to carry it the way you did today.

I dont mind the aches and pains after a good day’s accomplishments.

True dat. This way, when I put it down...I don’t have to carry it around anymore!

Agree, besides...more physical activity is what I wanted to be doing after dropping the weight. It will also help me lose more.

I will actually enjoy being sore, knowing it’s all for good reasons.

The high today was 84*...tomorrow it will be 43* and raining.

I really hate the up and down weather at this time of year. Normal is around 62* and we won’t get near that again for most of the week. Ugh.

I just brought a shop vac up the street - temperature has started to drop and breeze picking up. Still nice out, but felt a little chill through short sleeve shirt.

Yeah, I can feel it coming in. Had to close the garage door but I still have 2 windows open out here.

I’m still wearing just a t-shirt for now...but I have a pull-over that I will probably need to put on in the next hour. Tomorrow I will be wearing a jacket again.

Speaking of a Shop-vac, I need to buy one. I got rid of the last one after I trashed it three houses ago vacuuming out a chimney from a 40 year old oil fired furnace. It was a complete wreck when I was done.
