Mostly just the important things , Like Engines, heads, Some chassis parts, Differential parts and some transmission parts. You know...The critical stuff.. Anybody that torques every bolt is just plain Anal.....
 
I would use the tub stuff. either should work. I see the tube is non hardening.

How about the 3 roller lifter retainer (spider) bolts? 1/4'' ratchet should be fine. Like I told the lad, rods, mains, head bolts. The rest is common sense torque. We're not building a Saturn 5 here.
 
A friend would throw together small block Chevy stock car engines (bomber class) with a 3/8 cordless and 1/2" air impacts along with a couple hand wrenches for the hard to get at bolts. :lol:
 
I have to torque everything....don't know my own strength and usually break all the bolts. Especially left hand lug nuts!

I do, pretty much everything including pan gaskets and such. Mostly a hold over from working on Harleys and dealing with 1/4 inch fasteners and aluminum cases where 9lbs is good and tight and 13lbs is needing an insert. No clicker wrenches.
