Stop in for a cup of coffee

Anyone ever broken a cork screw off in a wine bottle? This is a first for me
Yes can you grab it with pliers and pull it out? If not you can push the cork in. There is another tyle of wine opener that is good to have called an ah-so. It is a pronged design that many people like better once you get the hang of it. It is necessary for older wines when the corks become fragile.

No, i tried that already. Cork just crumbled with the plyers. I'll look into the ah so. I was trying to marinate my steaks for dinner and options limited here at condo. Gonna hit town for something soon.

Epic day this will be! Got ahold of my Dad's best friend the boat builder. He want to meet my Mom and me at his shop this afternoon. He is a living legend and had such a great influence in our lives. He and my Dad had many great sailing adventures and he built the hull, mast and boom of our sailboat then my Dad (and Mom!) finished the rest in our garage.

Push it in then pour the wine thru a strainer or coffee filter. A skewer or something similar may help keep the cork pieces from interfering with the wine pouring out.

shatter it over a strainer!

Saw something actually good on the news a bunch of campgrounds in the area are offering two or three days free stay in a cabin to military families affected by the storm.

Oh my gosh my Dad would be so pleased, and good thing I came down here because George just sold the boat shop so it is the end of an era!

I think those boats are sold to friends of his. They have a big following and usually they are spoken-for. Even our sailboat built in '63 is still in use.

The only way my Dad afforded the boat we had was by doing so much of the work himself and I am sure George worked out a very favorable agreeement. That was very unusual because George's terms were "it will cost what it costs, it will be ready when its ready, and it will be perfect."

I will never buy another boat. Dang too expensive....A HUGE luxury unless you are making a living off it....IMO.

My wife wants one. I think we're gonna go used though. Save several grand that way and being how boats are maintance hogs, we'll be ahead that way
