Stop in for a cup of coffee

Ya I know a few $$ to restore it but this wheel restored (one year only 67 recall wheel) can bring $1600-2000....if you can find a complete wheel.
Of course though, now its on my car.
If I ever sell the car the old wheel is ready to go back on.

We used to do them at the gas station, yes they both had to be in the vice just right. Hmm Wonder if my BIL still has that machine? Not that I need it I want the exhaust pipe bender and cards!:rofl::rofl:

Thought i had one too!

LOL that east wood add say use a 1 lb can of PC-7 if necessary! WTH I skim coated a whole spare tire well with 1/4 lb! Throw that wheel out ther man!

Review manual for steering wheel removal. Wash wheel with dishwashing detergent and rinse. Once dry wipe wheel down with PRE Painting Prep. Usa a triangular file to "V" out crack down to metal frame. Mix equal parts of "A" and "B" epoxy PC-7 sufficiant to fill defect/s. Press PC-7 into cracks and smooth with a finger dipped in water. Allow repair to fully harden overnight. Sand repair areas by hand with 220 proceeding to 320 grit abrasive paper. Wipe wheel with PRE Painting Prep and handle with clean disposable gloves. Apply Adhesion Promoter per label directions to fill minor imperfections and topcoat.

Use an additional can of (52195) 1/2 lb. PC-7 or (52047) 1 lb. PC-7 as necessary to repair larger areas.

I like PC-7 better than JB Weld for some stuff. Was just repairing holes in deck boards with it yesterday. LOL. I got into that other deck rebuild and never got done mine. So just wanted to make sure the dogs feet did not go through a few small spots. It might take a week to cure in these temps though... Got it at last place I worked to repair mixing tanks ,and they were going to pitch it when we shut the place down. I found the JB would stick to stainless better, but the PC7 was tougher. ( It was also cheaper and cleans up with water). So I would spread the JB really thin like a primer coat then lay on the PC-7.

I see we are getting some ugly(er) weather Thursday. Snow, sleet, slop....
Was friggin raw last night. Temps in 30s and rain sucks. I would rather have snow.

Is that anything special? Does somebody re-pop them?
Need a good one to make a mold. Get old frames like that and make 'new' ones...
When I was looking for the recall wheel I saw lots of other wheels for sale. See wheels on this site for sale.

I was just thinking out loud...:realcrazy:
If they can be repaired with PC-7, could probably make one. Just not worth the effort unless its a high dollar item.

He is running a Fitech on it, really weird curve all mech, hits 14 @2k then 34 all in @4900. That was really interesting to make work. See how it is locked out? Pic is bad but a screw in the vac advance arm hole into the main plate drilled and tapped. He should be happy with it. I never did anything even close to that before.
I was wondering what you were doing there.
I think that curve is kindof like the pre68 factory engines with mild cam

The cuda has a crack right where the sun hit it if the kit is reasonable I would try it if I cant find a good price on a wheel.
Two cracks on mine (Az car). Installed a leather cover. Wasn't too hard to do and feels good.

Just checked on the porch floor I primed yesterday - still tacky. I'll be lucky if there's a few dry days warm enough to finish it before winter sets in.

If you guys ever want a hand stitched leather wrapped wheel I can check with my buddy Joel how much it costs. Here's a roll bar he did.

Latte with Ronald McDonald today  Felt like having something different. Good morning. Clear, calm and 75* today. So far it looks like the weather will remain good for Famoso Saturday :D.

I can keep my eyes open for a set give me the application and do you have the electric tailgate?
yes the waggy has an electric tailgate. The wagon is an '85. I think what Mitch has will work. I'll just need to find a person who know a bit about cutting keys when the originals are worn. Worst case, I can pull a door lock out.
