Street Freaks, Customs, Rods, Street Machines...60's 70's 80's

I just gotta say that chick in post #467 is WAY to hot....

That pic is from her website.

I forget her name, but I stumbled on it a year or so ago.

I’ve always liked this car! I first remember reading about it in Hot Rod back in the 80’s / 90's…

Looks like it was just sold at an auction in California and only brought $27,500! Anyway this is what the auction house had for a description…

Built by Al Scheib, son of auto paint impresario Earl Scheib, this Pro Street Plymouth is propelled by a monster 488-cid Keith Black hemi through a modified 727 Torqueflite and Gear Vendors 30-percent overdrive. The engine itself has racing heritage, as it was campaigned in the 1970s by Parnelli Jones in a funny car. With the 8-71 BDS supercharger, Hilborn four-port fuel injection and nitrous oxide it has been dyno tested at 3,000 horsepower.

Yeah, but does it have an "Earl Scheib" paint job?

Mine Pictures aren't as old as most of these but here is my first car in 1983(Yellow) and my second (Orange) in 1987.

Abodybomber, I feel the same way. These cars are not representative of the way they came from the factory, but they are great examples of how they were modified back in the day. It may have been low tech compared with many of today's builds but those cars had a unique personality. We gave up streetability in the pursuit of horsepower. Having a cushy ride was rarely the goal. Wild, loud, and fast was where it was at!
