Try this here had it posted in the small block tech with not much luck.

This is what I have going looking for cam suggestions.
71' swinger
73' 360
j heads cleaned up with some porting done nothing insane.

I wanted to go with a set of RHS heads just dont have the money this year. Decided to get my bottom end built right first.

SCAT rotating assembly forged crank
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCA-1-48035BI/
compression would be around 9.6

the heads I have are 65 cc
Mopar M1 intake
Holley 3310 with proform body
727
3100 stall converter
3.91 gears
28" tires
no power brakes

Looking for a decent little street/strip car. Next year stepping up the heads
thanks ahead of time

hydraulic flat tappet cam.
I was leaning towards a Mopar 508 but I think maybe that's too much cam?

i would go with a more modern cam, the 509 has about 248 @.050 and would work good with your combo, but i think a Vodoo or comp with something in the 520/ 550 lift and duration around 242 to 248 @.050 would be the ticket. Stroked Sb like a lot of duration

Call Brian at IMM, he'll set you up good! He did my custom cam

Running that cam in a 360 with mid port J heads, 202 & 160, rollers, RPM Airgap, 750DP, 727 & 3600 stall & 3.7 diff & works very well, I can recommend it.

If it's a solid flat tappet you have in mind I think my choices would be:
1. Crane 690921
2. Comp XS282S
3. An Engle custom but I don't have my Engle lobe list here (at work..lol).
